Monmouth MP David Davies has welcomed NatWest’s mobile branch at its new stop in the town.
He also met NatWest Community Banker Brian Merrifield, who is running regular drop-in sessions in Monmouth and hosting events on being financially fit, different ways to bank in a digital world and avoiding fraud and scams.
NatWest’s mobile branch now stops in the car park of The Robin Hood pub in Monnow Street every Monday, excluding public holidays, between 10.30am and 11.15am.
Customers visiting the mobile branch bank are able to carry out a range of personal banking transactions, including cashing cheques, making account deposits, paying bills and making general account and product enquiries.
Business and corporate customers are also able to use the mobile branch for certain transactions.
Mr Merrifield said: “I’m pleased to have the opportunity to develop a strong relationship with our customers in Monmouth, helping to ensure that NatWest remains an important part of the community.
"The impact of technological changes on the way people bank with us has been dramatic but we’re also aware that some people prefer a face-to-face channel for their banking.
“As well as holding drop-in sessions, I’m hosting regular events at local venues to help educate customers on being financially fit, training them on the different ways to bank in a digital world and how they can protect themselves from fraudsters.”
Mr Davies added: “My visit to NatWest’s mobile branch was a great opportunity to see first-hand the facilities it offers to Monmouth customers.
"I am also pleased that I was able to meet Brian, NatWest’s Community Banker for this area, who is not only supporting the bank’s own customers but is sharing expertise across the community on issues which affect us all, such as staying safe from scams.”
