Monmouth MP David Davies continued his series of popular ‘A Day in the Life’ talks when he visited Gilwern on Saturday morning (29th November).
There was a good turnout as local residents came to meet their MP in an informal setting at Gilwern Community Education Centre.
Mr Davies opened the non-political event with a behind the scenes look at the workings of Westminster, detailing what MPs get up to in their constituencies as well as in London. A lively question and answer session followed, with further devolution proposals for Wales and an EU referendum among the topics discussed.
“I thoroughly enjoy giving these talks,” said Mr Davies.
“They are a great way of engaging with constituents and help give people a better idea of what I do when I’m in Parliament, both in my role as a backbench MP and chair of the Welsh Affairs Committee.
“I am always happy to come and speak to any local groups or organisations and I promise to be very candid with my answers!”
