MONMOUTH MP David Davies is encouraging constituents to nominate community-minded young people for the British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Award.
The prestigious annual award scheme is open to anyone aged 25 or under and celebrates the achievements of young people in one of four categories: first aid, volunteering, community action and fundraising.
Nominations are open until 14th July 2013 and can be made online at www.redcross.org.uk/theaward. The awards ceremony will be held in London on 5th October 2013, with all nominees receiving a certificate celebrating their nomination.
Mr Davies said: “The Humanitarian Citizen Award is a fantastic opportunity to discover and reward young people in Monmouthshire whose selfless actions go unsung.
“Young people often get bad press but it’s important to recognise and celebrate their contributions and achievements.
“If you know of a young person or group in Monmouthshire who you feel has made a real difference to the local community and should be recognised, I would encourage you to nominate them.”
