WITH a share of £450,000 up for grabs, Monmouth MP David Davies is urging budding entrepreneurs to get involved in a nationwide competition and help make their business dream a reality.
Whether they’re looking to start a brand new business, manufacture innovative products, or expand into new markets, entrants in the Barclays ‘Take One Small Step’ competition stand a chance of winning one of nine regional prizes of £50,000 to put towards making it happen.
A panel of expert judges, including regional entrepreneurs, will shortlist the three best business ideas per region. With Barclays support, each shortlisted competitor will then canvas their local community to encourage the public to vote for them and make them a winner.
“This competition is a great opportunity and because the brief is so broad, the idea could be a lifelong ambition, a recent brainwave, or a personal experience,” said Mr Davies.
“The Government is taking action to ensure the banks are lending more to small companies and I’m delighted to see Barclays continuing its strong track record of support for UK businesses by putting £450,000 into helping budding entrepreneurs take one small step in the right direction”.
