Monmouth MP David Davies has welcomed the news that the Government has pledged an additional £12.1 million on top of current funding, for the roll out of superfast broadband in Wales.
David Davies MP said “It is great news that people living in Monmouthshire will benefit from this increase in funding thanks to the Coalition Government's commitment to superfast broadband in Wales.”
“The internet has become an integral part of our lives providing the opportunity to work, shop, pay bills, amongst other things at the click of a button. However, I am also aware that many people living in remote rural areas in Monmouthshire receive no broadband at all or if they do have broadband have found it working to poor standards.”
“The increase in funding for superfast broadband will mean that access to the internet will become much more widespread in my constituency, especially in rural areas. I am sure this will increase economic growth through encouraging investment in Monmouthshire and the UK as a whole. “
