Anglican leaders should preach word of God, not word of the Guardian

The Archbishop of Wales, Most Revd Dr Barry Morgan, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Revd and Rt Hon Justin Welby, have been suggesting that the half a million migrants who come into the UK each year are not enough and more should be welcomed. It is a familiar message from church leaders who these days seem more comfortable preaching the word of the Guardian than the word of God. 

THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SYRIA AND IRAQ

I was strongly opposed to military action in Syria and voted and spoke against the Government position on this issue. In considering military action in Parliament I ask myself if the people against whom action is proposed pose a threat to the UK and if the action we are taking is likely to lead to a better situation for the population of that country.

DAVID SPEAKS OUT AGAINST FGM

Conservative MP for Monmouth, David Davies, pledged his full support for the campaign to end FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) started by Fahma Mohamed. Over the past 8 years David has spoken out on the issue in Parliament and used the Freedom of Information Act to get information from the Metropolitan police on the number of arrests and investigations which have been carried out into this crime.

MONMOUTH MP SIGNS 2014 HOLOCAUST BOOK OF COMMITMENT

On Wednesday this week, Monmouth MP David Davies MP recognised the importance of Holocaust Memorial Day, by signing the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) book of commitment in the House of Commons.

MONMOUTH MP SPEAKS IN WELFARE REFORM DEBATE IN PARLIAMENT

On Monday 13thJanuary 2014, the Conservative MP for Monmouth, David T C Davies spoke in a debate on welfare reform. David made the point whilst undoubtedly people were genuinely suffering due to the reforms, there needed to be cuts made to welfare spending to recover from the economic mess left by the previous Labour Government.David highlighted in order to remove the perverse incentive that can make it better to be on benefits then on low paid work it was a priority to reform the Welfare State.
