Monmouth MP David Davies joined pupils, parents and staff at Osbaston Church in Wales School on Friday (9 March) to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.
The school held a special coffee morning with local Fairtrade ambassador Martha Musonza-Holman of the Love Zimbabwe charity, who brought along a range of gifts and crafts that could be purchased. She later led assembly.
Headteacher Catherine Jones said: “As a Fairtrade school we are always keen to promote Fairtrade and inform our pupils about the ways they can help.”
Mr Davies added: “I’m looking forward to a bit more Fairtrade in future when we have the ability to reduce tariffs on products such as tea and coffee which come into the UK from developing countries.”
