Monmouth MP David Davies was on hand to cut the ribbon at the newly reopened Redbrook Village Store. The Store has been closed for a number of months but has now been taken on by local couple Andrew and Angharad Wrigley.
The couple have big plans for the store, which were apparent at an opening party on Sunday, attended by scores of people from the area. Mr Wrigley spoke of extending the opening hours and bringing back the Post Office. The shop boasted a huge array of locally produced products including honey cakes the beer brewed at the Kingstone Brewery in Penallt proved to be especially popular.
Cutting the ribbon and thanking the Wrigley’s for their hospitality Mr Davies said, “For too long the Supermarkets have been having things their own way. With its attractive layout, friendly staff and its wide range of goods, the Redbrook Stores is much more than just a village shop. I am sure it will be supported by anyone who drives up and down the Wye Valley and I shall certainly be calling in again soon.""
