MONMOUTH MP David Davies was entertained recently by the Abergavenny & District Tourist Association, enjoying a wine-tasting experience and the superb vistas at the picturesque Sugar Loaf Vineyards.
Speaking from Monmouth, Mr Davies said: “It is always a pleasure to sit back and take in how beautiful the scenery is around Monmouthshire. It’s no wonder that there is such a wealth of tourist attractions in the area and it is vital for the local economy that we strive to promote these across the UK and beyond.
“There are so many businesses in and around the Abergavenny area that would benefit enormously from increased tourism in the area, and for this reason I am offering my full support to the aims of the Abergavenny & District Tourist Association. It already does sterling work in the area and with an increased membership it could have an even greater impact on the community and economy.
“I would urge those of a similar mind to join the ADTA – a united front can, and will, be hugely effective in co-ordinating plans and bringing about the word-of-mouth reputation that will see this area become one of the premiere outdoor tourist destinations in the UK. The potential is there, you just have to look around to see it, and I look forward to seeing the work of the ADTA pay huge dividends for the area in the near future.”
