Democracy came to the classroom when local MP David Davies visited an Abergavenny school today.
Mr Davies was invited to speak to pupils at Ysgol Gymraeg Y Fenni about his role in the democratic process.
He delivered his popular ‘A Day in the Life’ talk – a behind the scenes look at the workings of Westminster which details what MPs get up to in their constituencies, as well as in London.
The students then put Mr Davies, a fluent Welsh speaker, through his paces during a lively question and answer session.
He said: “It was an absolute pleasure to spend time at Ysgol Gymraeg Y Fenni.
“The children asked lots of intelligent questions and relished the chance to impart their own advice, which certainly gave me food for thought!
“I am often told that more can be done by politicians to reach out to young people and I thoroughly enjoy giving these talks.”
